Is it wrong to lust after avatars?
Poker is a frustrating game. Sexually...

During the World Cup, Pokerstars is letting players choose the avatar of their national flag.
This is a good thing. It's impossible to lust after the flag of Uruguay, unless you are a very, very strange human being.
As it happens, I am. But I don't find flags sexually attractive. Unless they're draped around the naked body of Vanessa Hudgens.
Neither do I find those blue creatures from the film Avatar sexually appealing. Well, at least not when I'm sober.
But I do have a problem with women (if they are actually women...more of that in other blogs) using flirtatious avatars when I'm trying to concentrate on expected value and pot odds.
And lo, so it came to pass last night, when I was fooling around playing No Limit Hold'em sit & gos on The Stars.
The usual smattering of Euroloons and their faintly disgusting avatars were there - fat men with beards, nerds with dogs, threatening-looking hoodies in 'caps' - along with a smattering of Germans, Spaniards, Dutch and U.R.Gay'uns.
And then, there she was...a silhouetted beauty with a ravishing username (data protection act prevents me from blah blah blah) to match.
Immediately I was in love. The promise of what lay behind that hardened cartoon exterior almost too much to bear.
Of course, she was probably a fat wench from Ipswich called Carol. But within 15 minutes she had all my chips and I was on my way...so I'll never know.
