POKER is about to land in Eastern Europe - which could be quite a culture shock for some of the natives.
PokerStars has confirmed its latest live tour – the Eureka Poker Tour – will bring the big game tournament experience to Eastern and Central Europe at very affordable buy-ins.
Season 1 kicks off in 'Stag Do City', aka Prague, at the Card Casino in Prague from March 16-20.
It will then head to Bulgaria, where the locals will be asked to abandon the more traditional pastimes of weight-lifting and sumo wrestling to shuffle up and deal.
The tour, part of PokerStars drive to expand into new untapped markets, then heads to Croatia, Slovenia and Romania, before returning to the Czech capital in December for the Prague EPT.
Each of the Eureka Poker Tour’s €800 main events take place over four days, with two starting days and maximum capacities of 400-500 players. Prize pools are expected to be in excess of €250,000.
Online satellites to the first event start on Wednesday, January 19 with a wide range of qualifying options, tailored to suit players of all bankrolls. Feeder satellites start from as little as €2.
