Matthew Paige Damon is an American actor and screenwriter.
He rose to fame following the success of Good Will Hunting (1997), a screenplay he co-wrote with friend and fellow poker player Ben Affleck.
Damon has since starred in several hit films including Saving Private Ryan (1998), the Ocean's trilogy, and the Bourne series.
In 2007, Damon received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine.
Damon has been actively involved in charitable work, including the ONE Campaign, H2O Africa Foundation, and Water.org.
He was taught to play poker by Phil Hellmuth Jnr prior to his role in the 1998 movie Rounders, in which he played a law school student who loses his tuition money playing poker.
Damon is no a regular face at celebrity and charity poker tournaments and cash games. He has also played the World Series of Poker Main Event several times.
