Joe Tehan knocked out all seven players on the NAPT Los Angeles final table

Joe Tehan has won the North American Poker Tour Main Event in Los Angeles after knocking out ALL the other players on the final table.

The 30-year-old, who was relatively short-stacked entering the final, annihilated his rivals after picking up all all of Jake Tool's chips early on.

He then used his increased stack to systematically take out the other players, starting with WSOP bracelet holder Jason Mercier and finishing by taking down Chris Demaci - the original chip leader - in heads-up.

The win means Tehan has now picked up more than $3 million in live tournament earnings and was the second biggest win of his career.

He said: "This was a great experience.

"The turnouts at NAPT events have been getting bigger and bigger. I mean, this is a $5k tournament with over 700 players.

"I don’t play much outside of Vegas or L.A., so to get a turnout like this in L.A. was good. I was excited to come down and play and I’m glad I did.”

The NAPT Los Angeles Main Event attracted 701 players from more than 20 countries around the world, generating a prizepool worth more than $3.2 million USD.

Tehan added: "I really don’t travel much to play a lot of tournaments. They’re really stressful and I get enough of that at home.

"But I’ve heard the PCA [Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure] is a great, great tournament and it sounds like a lot of fun, so maybe I’ll end up doing that."

DeMaci, 27, from Newport Beach, California collected $440,000 for his runners-up spot.
